Private/Passenger

In general, all private/passenger plates are the original 1971 series, i.e. the
letter "C" and a serial number, with several design (layout) changes over the years.
Not all changes occurred at the same time in all districts. Many exceptions exist to
the generalization described below.
(A) 1973: No district code.
(B) 1981: Use of wide dies and a four digit registration.
(C) 1989: Use of narrower dies and the registration was expanded to five digits (with leading zeroes).
(D) Since circa 2009: Plates are made of flat plexiglass or plastic with an official seal.
Optional Graphics

In 2010, colorful plates appeared, often with a logo. However, the series still
consists of the original letter "C" and a serial number.
