Between 1941 and 1945, Croatia was an independent protectorate
Republika Srpska Krajina


Republika Srpska Krajina was proclaimed in late 1991 in Serbian controlled areas of eastern, western and southern Croatia. Croatia recovered those territories in mid-1995 and 1998 when full sovereignty was restored.
